I changed my router and nothing is working!

In general, once your port has been activated, and migrated to the peering vlan, we will hard-code your router's mac address to your port at the Internet exchange, and disable mac-address learning for your port.  This means that if you plan to change your network router, or even your port, you must let us know in advance of your maintenance window so that we can work with you to ensure that your change is smooth and successful.  Not doing so will guarantee that when your new device/port comes online, it will not be visible to the rest of the Internet exchange, and cause you a service outage!

If you have fallen prey to this, it's really easy to fix this.  You could easily clone your mac address to match your older mac, or, simply send our support team a message and request that we update the mac address for your port.  Please be sure to include your new mac address in your message.

Of course, if you know the mac-address in advance of your change, you are also free to send this to our team along with the details of when you are planning your change, and we will ensure that the necessary happens.

For peers that are on LACP enabled ports, we recommend that you set a dedicated mac-address for the LACP bundle, and provide us with that mac address.  On some platforms, the LACP mac address changes when when the bundle re-negotiates (eg. after a router reboot), and you will want to avoid having something as simple as a reboot, cause your port to be disabled at the IX.
